CCB Martial Arts provides martial arts training in Concord, Ca.  We are focused on helping you build a higher level of self-confidence, self-esteem and self-defense.  We offer instruction in three martial arts; Seibukan Jujutsu for adults, juniors and children, Enshin Itto Ryu Battojutsu (Samurai Sword Art), and Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu). Also, we offer Iyengar Yoga classes.

Our physical and mental health is our first priority. We get active multiples times a week and learn how our mentality is manifested physically.


We learn that communication and our ability to work with people helps us in cultivating great relationships.

Jon Rodriguez Kyoshi

9th Degree Black Belt

Jon Rodriguez Kyoshi is the Certified Chief Instructor and founder of CCB Martial Arts with experience teaching and mentoring adults, juniors and children around the world. He is a full time teacher and continuing student of the martial arts. Also, he actively teaches members of the law enforcement and security personnel.

He is a direct student of the founder of Seibukan Jujutsu and a graduate of an intense martial art apprentice training program (uchideshi). He was a main instructor at Seibukan Jujutsu headquarters. He travels all over the world with the grand master of Seibukan Jujutsu and is a influential figure in the art.

Rodriguez Kyoshi holds black belt ranks in several martial arts; Kyudan (9th Degree Black Belt)in Seibukan Jujutsu, Judan (10th Degree Black Belt) in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu), Rokudan (6th Degree Black Belt) in Enshin Itto-Ryu Battojutsu (Samurai Sword Art), Shodan ( 1st Degree Black Belt) in Seibukan Jojutsu and Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) in Aikido.

Rodriguez Kyoshi works to create balance through practical applications and philosophy of bujutsu and budo. His interest is to share his knowledge of empowerment to guide and lead others down their path of unification of mind, body and spirit.


Sterling Pace Sensei

5th Degree Black Belt

Sensei Sterling is a Battojutsu instructor and active student at CCB Martial Arts. He has over 30 years martial arts experience in various disciplines believing that “to be a better and complete martial artist you have to be able to walk many different paths until you find the one that will take you to your ultimate destination.”

Sensei Sterling has remained true to his philosophy and because of his unwavering commitment, focus and discipline to his practice, he has high rankings in multiple arts. Having studied under Sensei Rodriguez, he has achieved the rank of Gondan (5th Degree Black Belt) in Enshin Itto-ryu Battojutsu.

He also has his  4th Dan (4th Degree Black Belt) in Tae Kwon Do, 2nd Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt) in Sil Lum Kung Fu (Shaolin Discipline) and a 2nd Dan (2nd Degree Black Belt) in Modern Arnis (Filipino Stick Art). He has Level III rankings in Close Quarters Combat and Filipino Combat Systems Kali. He has rankings in Sanshinkai Karate, Hapkido, Balinawak Escrima, Palis Palis Escrima, Doce Pares Esckrima and Tai Chi.

Sensei Sterling became an instructor at CCB Martial Arts as a way to share the knowledge that he has attained so as to assist others on their journey. He has an innate ability to tap into what a student needs to improve their practice and can assist others to see the path from one technique to another. He believes that helping others improve themselves is a practice in self improvement.


Rosie Misenhimer‎ Sensei

3rd Degree Black Belt


Rosie is a certified instructor and active student at CCB Martial Arts. She started Seibukan Jujutsu as a way to connect with her son on the mat and found a profound connection to the art within herself. She began to train extensively and work closely with Jon Rodriguez Renshi as a mentor, assisting in the kids classes and summer camp. After earning her Shodan (1st degree black belt), she took the instructor’s course and began the process of instructor certification. She loves training and working with the kids and finding creative ways to connect with them, both on and off the mat. She wants to inspire and encourage our kids, especially the girls to step out of their comfort zone and create their own universe and to instill in them the belief that anything is possible.

Rosie is a Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in Seibukan Jujutsu and a Shodan (1st degree black belt) in Enshin Itto-Ryu Battojutsu.


Bev Buckhalt

Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor


Bev Buckhalt has taught yoga many years. She teaches yoga in the Iyengar tradition and is a certified teacher and has participated in the teacher training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco. She has studied in India with the Iyengars many times. Bev apprenticed for several years with Manouso Manos and she continues her ongoing yoga education with him. She has been active in many yoga-related committees and organizations. She is past President and Chairman of the Board of the YOGA JOURNAL. She is a member of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California and the B.K.S. Iyengar National Association of the U.S.

Bev has taught in the California adult education program since 1980 and holds a State of California teaching credential. She was the first yoga teacher to teach yoga in the adult education curriculum in the State of California.
