Self-Confidence & Self-Defense Training (8-13yrs)
Our children are dealing with a complex world which leads them to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsuccessful. This lowers their self-esteem. We, as parents, are looking for tools and activities to help our child be prepared for success in life.
At CCB Martial Arts, we are focused on providing and creating tools that boost your child’s self-confidence. This leads them to having better behavior, better academic success, and social confidence.
How do we do this?
We give them concepts to mentally focus on each week. Concepts like initiative, where we talk about doing something without being told; like their homework. We teach your child how this can benefit them and not just because they won’t get in trouble. Your child learns that they get to be more prepared in class, have more time to do other things, have happy parents, and be a leader for their friends. Overall, this helps their self-esteem and self-worth.
What does this have to do with self-defense martial arts?
Self-Defense has the word self in it first. We teach your child to have a healthy self talk as well as learn that through healthy self-esteem and self-confidence, they will avoid most situations, which is our philosophy. No challenge, no resistance, no injury.
What if that doesn’t work?
Well, we know that sometimes it is out of our control if our child is bullied physically, and attacked. We are able to teach them how to defend themselves physically, but in a way that they are never the aggressor seeing as how we only do enough to stop the attacker. We teach not to be violent and not live in fear of it.
We do not compete. We are not a sport. We are looking to have your child be the best they can be by not comparing themselves to someone else who has scored the most points or won a trophy. We teach a lifestyle, one that focuses on self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-defense. We learn who your child is and their best way to learn. They are individuals and we approach them as so.
8-13 Years Old
An important phase in your child’s development. Here they are feeling the pressure to fit in, longing for acceptance in a group. Our community is a healthy support system that helps each other become better each day. Their peers are focused on taking responsibility, showing appreciation, and finding solutions. We work to encourage this tender age to live in the light and be leaders among their peers. Your child will strive on breaking through limitations and learning new ways to find independence by taking on more responsibility.
